In a few brief sentences, please introduce yourself. Hey there! I'm Mishal Sohail. I have been working in the field of cybersecurity for more than 4 years. I really enjoy the dynamic nature of this field and the opportunity to take on challenges with something new to learn every day. One of my favourite parts is diving into investigations - there’s something really satisfying about cracking a case and making sure everything iss locked down tight!
On a personal note, I love to bake and, if I do say so myself, I make the best gooey fudge brownies!
What’s your role at Heighten Security?
I work as part of the CORE technical team at Heighten Security, specializing in areas like incident detection and response, network security vulnerability management and security operations.
In your opinion, what sets Heighten apart from competition? What do you like most about working here?
What sets Heighten Security apart is that we are a boutique cybersecurity service provider. Our focus is on delivering personalized, customer-centric solutions tailored to each customer’s unique needs. We do not follow a one-size-fits-all approach, there is a strong emphasis on collaboration and a real commitment to helping clients succeed by providing the best, most effective security solutions.
Heighten has been amazing in providing a platform for growth and continuous learning, which keeps me excited about my work every day.
What’s one piece of advice for someone looking to get into the cybersecurity industry? One piece of advice I would give to someone looking to get into the cybersecurity industry is to stay curious, a little bit paranoid, and never stop learning. Cybersecurity is all about staying one step ahead, so developing that mindset of questioning, constantly expanding your knowledge base, staying updated on the latest trends will go a long way.
Who is your most influential role model right now? My sister is a major inspiration in my life. Her resilience, compassion, and dedication to making a difference has always motivated me. She has made a significant impact in children’s education, particularly in small villages in Pakistan, where she has worked to provide access to education and empower families to break the cycle of poverty. Through her collaborations with organizations like UNESCO, UNICEF, and the Malala Fund, she has touched countless lives.
Currently, she is expanding her impact by offering personal growth training, helping individuals unlock their full potential. Observing her has inspired me to lead with purpose and approach challenges with confidence, while also understanding that success is not just about achievements; its about lifting others up and making a lasting impact on the lives we touch.
If you could have one superpower, what would it be? If I could have one superpower, it would be the ability to instantly transfer knowledge, like an airdrop for the brain. Imagine being able to instantly absorb all the information, skills, and understanding you need without having to go through hours of study or practice. The brain would just be a sponge, soaking up everything. I think that would be an amazing way to keep growing and mastering whatever interests you, without the wait!
